What Past Participants Say ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alex Chen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to spend a week learning at Shen Nong Chinese Medicine Hospital in the summer of 2024. Dr. Kun Liu was an exceptionally kind, patient, and supportive host and teacher, always encouraging my questions and curiosity.

The warmth extended beyond Dr. Liu to the entire hospital staff, many of whom are part of her family. Shen Nong Hospital has a calm and warm atmosphere, putting both patients and staff at ease. I got to rotate through every department, and each staff member was generous with their time, helping me make the most of my short stay.

During the week, I learned so much from doctors in acupuncture, herbal medicine, tui na (adult and pediatric), moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and auricular acupuncture. The hospital’s high patient volume provided abundant learning opportunities. I also practiced Qi Gong by the nearby river with Dr. Liu and experienced the San Fu paste treatments.

The summer of 2024 marked the hospital’s 30th anniversary, and I was moved by the dedication of the doctors preparing for the celebration. Hearing Dr. Liu’s family stories of perseverance and seeing the strong mentorship culture among the doctors left a deep impression on me. The hospital is like one big harmonious and united family.

Beyond medicine, I was fortunate to experience Chinese tea culture, music, and cuisine. I participated in tea ceremonies hosted by Dr. Zeng, learned to play the guzheng (Chinese zither), and enjoyed lots of local food and sightseeing with Dr. Liu and her family.

Overall, it was a week filled with learning, warmth, culture, and joy. My sincere thanks to Dr. Liu and Shen Nong Hospital, and I highly recommend this TCM study experience to others!
